Water World Stoke

Located just off the M6, Water World Stoke is the UK’s number 1 indoor tropical aqua park. It offers a huge variety of rides and pools for all ages and is a fantastic way to entertain the kids and keep them active at the same time. Whether you want the thrill of the flumes or simply want to relax with a cup of tea on the side, this place has you covered.

Activities include Wave Pool, Super Flume, Jacuzzi, The Rapids, Black Hole, Space Bowl and Assault Course. They also offer packages for group bookings, birthday parties or private hire.

Trentham Monkey Forest

Imagine what it would be like to walk among some of nature’s finest creatures and see them up close.

It’s a far off dream, right?

Not anymore.

Situated in Staffordshire, Trentham Monkey Forest is home to 140 free roaming Barbary macaques and is the only place you can find two groups of these monkeys living freely. This is your chance to walk along side these beautiful animals and watch what they get up to when they are allowed to roam where they please.

They even offer a “Breakfast with the Monkeys” experience, which allows you to become a VIP and hang out with the monkey before opening hours. During this experience you will be feeding the monkeys, drive into the forest and see behind the scenes and learn all about the monkeys. You even get to have your picture taken with these primates.

Alton Towers

Be honest, this one won’t need explaining. But we’ll do it anyway!

Alton Towers Resort is widely considered the UK’s number 1 rollercoaster theme park and is the perfect family outing.

There is so much to explore, as this place is huge! If thrill seeking is your thing, try your luck with Nemesis or even the death defying Oblivion. If you’re after a more family friendly experience, why not try the Congo River Rapids, Runaway Mine Train or Hex if you fancy a spook. Brand new for 2017 there is now a CBeebies Land, which is perfect for those who have younger children.

They offer a great ticket option called Fastrack, which enables you to avoid all the queues and enhance your Alton Towers experience. This ticket is definitely a good option if you are attending the theme park on a busy day, as the queues can get pretty long.

Flip Out Stoke

Looking for more fun ways to tire your kids out?

Flip Out Stoke is Staffordshire’s original and best indoor trampoline park, with over 100 trampolines for you to bounce across. They have the world’s biggest tower jump and 3 foam pits! There is also a café and seating areas for parents who don’t fancy their luck on the trampolines and a viewing area in the actual arena.

They have a wide range of activities available that includes Standard Jump (£10), Flip Fit (£6), After Dark (£15), Little Ninjas (£6) and Infinity Flip (£15). There is even the option for conference facilities and team-building days and has become an approved destination for school trips.

Emma Bridgewater Factory

Okay, so maybe some of these things are too physical for you. Or maybe they just don’t float your boat.

Why not try something different?

The Emma Bridgewater Factory produces some of the finest pottery around and is located in Hanley. Come and learn what goes into making the special pottery that has filled people’s homes for years and see the craftsmanship for yourself.

As well as taking the tour of the factory, you can book onto a decorating studio session where with a little expert help; you can create a masterpiece to be proud of. The perfect activity for those who like to be creative.

You can also purchase the Ultimate Emma Bridgewater Experience, where you can enjoy a behind the scenes factory tour, try your hand at decorating your own piece of pottery and enjoy a relaxing lunch in their beautiful café.

National Paintball Games Staffordshire

Set in the Staffordshire countryside, Ashcroft Park plays host to some of the wildest paintball battles.

The site offers 8 different game areas, and can cater up to 200 people at one time. It is open to everyone on Saturdays and Sundays with them hosting corporate and other business events during the week.

Some of the game zones include the Sandbags Zone, Village Zone, Jungle Zone, Bridge Zone and an Attack and Defend Zone in a game of capture the flag. They even have a Laser Combat option, which is especially good if you have younger children. With the Laser Combat there is also an option for birthday parties, making it an ideal spot to let your kids blow off some steam.

Cineworld Stoke

Let’s make our way back indoors with a movie.

Cinema giants Cineworld have recently opened a brand new site in the Hanley City Centre. This magnificent 9-screen cinema has the ability to show both 2D and RealD 3D films and even has a Baskin Robbins counter. What more could you want?

The cinema also facilitates everyone, having good disabled access and an option for audio described films using headphones.

Every Saturday and Sunday morning they hold ‘Movies for Juniors’, where they will show kids films that are a few months old for only £2 a ticket. Bargain!
