10 Fantastic Ways To Spend Your Summer In Wrexham
Now that the sunshine is here, it’s time to look forward to the summer. Everyone looks forward to the summer because it usually means spending time with our family and friends, and who doesn’t look forward to that?

‘Grease’ The Movie Singalong – 29th June
Let’s face it, who isn’t a fan of the 1978 musical classic ‘Grease’?
Following the success of their ‘Mamma Mia’ themed night, The Stiwt Theatre is hosting a singalong night dedicated to the iconic film on Friday 29th June. Start warming up those vocal chords and get ready to sing along to all of the hits such as “Summer Nights”, “You’re The One That I Want” and the infectious “Grease Is The Word”.

Jason Manford – 7th & 19th July
Manchester based funny man Jason Manford brings his ‘Muddle Class’ tour to the town of Wrexham for 2 dates this summer.
Performing at William Aston Hall on Saturday 7th July and Thursday 19th July, the comedian is best known for appearing on shows like 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Live At The Apollo and Show Me The Funny. Having toured up and down the country for many years now with his multiple shows, he’s guaranteed to bring a lot of laughs when he graces the stage in July.

Underneath The Arches – 20th July
Pontcysllte Aqueduct’s music and light spectacular returns for another year in 2018.
Underneath The Arches is a fantastic live music event/picnic/firework display located at Pontcysllte Aqueduct and takes place on Friday 20th July. The event is organised by Wrexham Council and features great food, great bands and great times. With a family-friendly atmosphere, the event is for all ages and the firework show at the end is something not to be missed.

The Greatest Show – 20th – 24th July
The latest musical phenomenon hit our screens last Christmas, but are you ready to see it live and up close?
The Greatest Show is a tribute show dedicated to the brilliant ‘The Greatest Showman’ film that took the world by storm earlier this year, and features all of the hit songs that the nation fell in love with. Organised by Cyclone Events, the popular musical experience will be performed on 5 dates in mid July at The Stiwt Theatre.

BBC Antiques Roadshow – 26th July
Fiona Bruce and the team of experts will be passing through Erddig on Thursday 26th July.
Think you’ve got something that might be worth a fortune? The popular daytime television show will be filming at Erddig this July and will be offering free advice and valuations to any visitors, so be sure to bring along your valuables. You might be surprised how much something is (or isn’t) worth!

Tom Allen – 26th July
After wowing crowds supporting Sarah Millican last year, comedian Tom Allen is bringing his latest show to William Aston Hall on Thursday 26th July.
Audiences may know Tom from appearing on shows such as 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Mock The Week, and he is currently one of the hosts on Bake Off: The Professionals. His sharp and witty act has proven to provide a lot of laughs, extending his already long ‘Absolutely’ tour even further.

Rock The Park Festival – 17th – 19th August
Returning for another year, the Rock The Park Festival is back with even more of the nation’s best tribute acts.
Taking place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th August, the event sees tributes to some of the world’s biggest acts including Live/Wire, Green Date, Wrong Jovi and Hi-On-Maiden. Can you guess who they’re trying to be? The event also features a pre-festival club night on Friday 17th August and features original artists such as Ultrabeat, Andy Whitby and K-Klass.

Falconry In The Gardens – 19th August
If you’re a fan of birds of prey, this is right up your street.
Chirk Castle welcomes Shropshire Falconry to its grounds on Sunday 19th August and is set to be a great show. The display will showcase these beautiful falcons, hawks and owls and you’ll get the opportunity to see them up close, as well as soaring through the skies to the break-taking backdrop of Chirk Castle.

Eagles Meadow – All Summer
Looking for a fun day out for the whole family? Get on down to Eagles Meadow this summer.
Wrexham’s local shopping centre is packed full of great shops to browse through such as H&M, Topshop, The Entertainer and River Island. The Entertainer is even hosting an event on 4th August where members of the public can come and meet Lego Batgirl.
Want some quality family time? Eagles Meadow features a range of fantastic food stops such as Nando’s, Frankie & Benny’s and Pizza Express, and the Odeon cinema where you can catch all of the summer blockbusters. This summer is set to be a big one, with the releases of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, The Incredibles 2 and Ant-Man And The Wasp all coming over the next month or so.

Techniquest Glyndwr – All Summer
After something that successfully mixes the combination of fun and educational?
Techniquest Glyndwr is North Wales’ number one science discovery centre and is based at the Glyndwr University in town. With over 65 hands-on exhibits, games and puzzles, kids and adults alike are bound to have a good time and learn something new.
As well as having an impressive amount of exhibits, they host daily science shows based on different themes in their 60-seat science theatre and there is always something new to learn.
