A luxury B&B in a beautiful Victorian house in the much sought after small coastal town of Criccieth. Glyn y Coed is situated at the start of the Llyn Peninsula and is minutes walk from the beach, castle, Wales Coastal Path, cafes and several excellent restaurants. You are also a short drive from Snowdonia, Abersoch, Aberdaron, Harlech, Caernarfon, Anglesey, Conwy, several golf courses, zip wires, etc.
Easily accessible but within a peaceful location, Glyn y Coed is lucky to have amazing views of the sea, Criccieth Castle and the Berwyn Mountain range (and Harlech Castle in the distance). You are south-facing here so you will see fantastic sunrises and sunsets over the bay. In an evening, the sea and the mountains often turn very orange or to a pale blue and pale pink. We see the wild horses on the rough sea, the bright moon reflecting on the water and lightning storms behind the castle - in fact that is a great time to run down to the sea and go for a swim!
There are 10 ensuite guest rooms including a ground floor annex room, parking for 12 cars and a beautiful raised patio overlooking the garden and the bay. Four of the guest rooms, the lounge and also the dining room have stunning views - an ideal place to sit, unwind and watch the dolphins and occasionally the seals.
The 2/3 bedroomed owners accommodation is of exceptional size and standard and the new luxurious kitchen, with a large Aga is stunning and contemporary whilst remaining practical.
The decor throughout is classic and tasteful and retains many of its original period features. This elevates Glyn y Coed to an above-average B&B.
This has been a successful business for around 100 years, providing an excellent return and a rewarding lifestyle business.
Glyn y Coed has been trading successfully by its current owner for 18 years and enjoys a high level of repeat custom. There is scope to expand on the already impressive turnover figures. Opportunities include the potential introduction of daytime and evening menu options. There is a liquor license currently in place with an honesty bar however, formalising the bar services could generate even more profit. Alternatively, there is scope to convert to a number of high end self catering units. Actual trading accounts will be made available following a successful formal viewing.
